PRODUCTION PROCESS

From the plantations to coffee stores, coffee beans are carefully selected, processed and packaged, by constantly pursuing the perfection of our production criteria.

 

Gima Caffè has always greatly invested in the evolution of production techniques, hence our choice to direct resources and investments towards coffee processing and packaging improvement, with a cutting-edge roasting installation, insulated silos for the storage of both green and roasted coffee beans too.

 

This has allowed us not only to stabilize our coffees with targeted roasting curves for each single origin, but also to meet the needs of Italian and foreign markets, both in constant growth

THE SELECTION

The selection takes place on a sample of green coffee beans through a control carried out in the laboratory according to the shape (screen size), humidity and density of the bean and through tastings by expert tasters.

CHECKS

An additional check is made upon arrival of the green coffee beans. Before being placed in the storage silos, checks are carried out on the weight and humidity, to verify compliance with the initial samples.

ROASTING

Each green coffee origin is roasted separately with one recipe dedicated to the single variety.

DEGASSING, BLENDING
AND PACKAGING

After having been conveyed on the “quality saver” tape, storage and degassing take place in separated storage silos, in a controlled environment and within a specified time-scale. Every single origin is gently mixed with the others  in accordance with very strict ratios. Finally, coffee is packaged using high quality materials, able to preserve every single feature of our premium blends.
